  • You need to have legal authorisation to welcome Guests on your property

What can I list on Rewildin?

Rewildin is listing wild & green properties in Australia:

If you are keen to be part of the Rewildin hosting community but you aren’t sure if your property / land fit in these criteria, ask youself “How will my guests connect with nature during their stay?”  If you can answer this question with a few strong points, you’re probably eligible to list with us. In doubt you can always contact us at [email protected].

We will feature environmentally sustainable initiatives from our hosts on Rewildin’s website and on social media soon.

What will I need to provide to list?

We’ll need your contact details (first name, last name, email address and mobile phone) and your bank account details.

How much does it cost to list on Rewildin?

It’s free! And you’re free! No contract.

Does Rewildin take a commission on bookings?

We are taking a small 2% commission to cover payment transfer fees from us to you. Our mission is to help landowners to get the most of their land, hence the low commission rate.

No additional fee?

No, that’s it.

When do I get paid?

The next day after the guest’s stay (check-in), we’ll process the payment. It usually take another 24 hours to see the payment amount in your bank account.

Is the payment processing safe?

We’re using the Stripe Gateway to process your payments (more details about their secure payment process here) in addition with a standard SSL encryption to protect your payment and information.

I have my listing already listed on another website, how do I not double book?

We’re delighted to hear that you don’t put all your (cage-free) eggs in the same basket and that you’re willing to increase your exposure.

Guests interested in booking with your will send you a Request to Book. You will be able to double check your own calendar before approving or declining the booking request you’ve received.

Sure thing. The more listings you have, the more people you meet and the more people you’ll make happy!

How long do I have to reply to the Request to Book?

The least the Guest has to wait the more enjoyable the booking experience is. Cancellation / Refund

What are the cancellation policies?

Rewildin wants to protect hosts in the event of guest cancellations.

Here are our four cancellation policies that hosts can choose from:

  • Flexible: If the guest cancels at least a full 24 hours before check-in time*, he will get a full refund (minus the non-refundable Rewildin fees).

Example: The check-in is at 3pm, the guest needs to click on the “Cancel” button prior 3pm on the day before.

  • Moderate: If the guest cancels at least 1 week before check-in time*, he will get a full refund (minus the non-refundable Rewildin fees).

Example: The check-in is at 3pm on Saturday the 20th, the guest needs to click on the “Cancel” button prior 3pm on the Saturday 13th.

  • Strict: If the guest cancels within 30 days before check-in time*, he will get a 50% refund (minus the non-refundable Rewildin fees).

Example: The check-in is at 3pm on the 20th of April, the guest needs to click on the “Cancel” button prior 3pm on the 21st of March.

  • No refund: The guest is not entitled to any refund. The Rewildin fee is non-refundable.

*If the check-in time is not specified, it is 3pm by default.

Oops, I changed my mind on approving a booking…

Cancelling an approved booking is a very disappointing experience for the guest. Think about the stress and waste of time you would experience if you put yourself in the guest’s shoes. As soon as you make the decision to cancel the booking, you will need to inform us at [email protected] and explain the reason of your change of mind so we can notify the guest. As a Host, you will have to proceed to a full refund of the booking (plus Rewildin fees) paid by the guest. We will collect the refund and then reimburse the guest.

Am I notified when the guest cancels?

Of course! You will receive an email when the guests cancels a booking waiting for your approval.

Why is it not allowed to contact the guest directly?

Rewildin doesn’t not allow guests and hosts to communicate outside the Rewildin Platform for three main reasons:

  • Safety – As per our terms and conditions, we’re keeping a track of every exchanges made on Rewildin Messages to better ensure your safety.
  • Privacy – The guest and host are not allowed to exchange their email addresses and phone numbers before the booking is confirmed. Please review our Privacy Policies for further details.
  • Booking management – It’s easier to manage your bookings in one place to avoid double bookings and not to have to worry about who, what and when.

Taxes

Some Hosts will be registered for GST. In this case, the price entered by the Host upon creation of his listing must also include their own GST.

All Hosts are responsible for managing their own taxation obligations (including GST if applicable).

Insurance, Trust & Safety

Do you provide Insurance?

Most of landowners have their have own insurance. Make sure your insurance covers the type of activity you offer on your property. If not so you may want to upgrade your policy or alternatively add another appropriate commercial cover for tourism and outdoor recreational industries.

I don’t trust a host / guest, any advice?

This would be unfortunate but it can happen that something doesn’t feel right. Your safety is key. Here are a few tips to avoid any doubts and incidents:

Agree to only communicate on Rewildin Messagesbetween hosts and guests so that all conversations are tracked and to best to best ensure your safety and privacy.

  • Every guest gets to read and sign a Host Guidelines Agreement and commit to follow the rules in place (Example: Leave no trace and take rubbish with you, no campfire allowed etc…)
  • Report to us any misadventure. Rewildin can decide to ban a guest or a host from the community depending on the severity of the case.
  • Finally, trust your guts: if a situation seems unusually complicated or unsafe, get in touch with us to seek guidance.
What happens in the event of damage or loss on my property?

If a guest damages the property, they will have to pay the host the costs of repair or replacement. This is part of Rewildin’s Terms and Conditions and the host can add this in his guidelines signed by the guest during check-in.
Rewildin can help you in the event the issue has not been resolved, if the guest has not resolved the issue with a direct payment (cost of repair or replacement). You can start a claim by emailing us at [email protected]. We will try our best to get back to you within 5 business days.
Rewildin will not take any liability for any damage or loss caused by guests during the stay on your property.

What happens in the event of accident or injury on my property?

Rewildin advises you to have your own insurance that protect you against claims. As a landowner, you have the duty to offer a safe environment to your guests and in some cases, may be liable to pay compensation to a guest if a damage or an injury could have been easily avoided on your property. You can prepare a disclaimer to exclude your liability and make it signed by the guest upon arrival.

Resolving a Problem

I’ve had a bad experience with a host or a guest. What can I do?

We’re sorry to hear that. We’re doing our best to prevent this kind of scenarios. Make sure you discuss any problem with your host or guest. There are always solutions and compromises.
The guest / host could be banned from the community depending of the severity of the case.

The guest will be able to leave a review to the host’s listing page. The hosts won’t be able to delete the comment from the dashboard but can contact Rewildin if the review that has been left is not true.

I tried to resolve a conflict but I’m not satisfied with the resolution. Can I contact Rewildin?

If you haven’t found a solution yet, contact us by email at [email protected]. We will get back to you within 5 business days.
